Bargoed is the third largest town in Caerphilly County Borough and is located in the heart of the Rhymney Valley, central to the neighbouring communities of Gilfach, Aberbargoed and Britannia. The Greater Bargoed Community Regeneration Scheme is a programme of regeneration that will help breathe new life into Bargoed and strategically develop the town over the next 10 years. A major objective of the scheme is to enhance transport links and provide improved access between the local communities, in order to allow the regeneration of the town centre and the construction of a new retail development plateau. The scheme will not just improve the road transport infrastructure but it will also include ambitious and far-reaching proposal that will help to transform Bargoed and impact on the surrounding communities. A key component of the scheme is the £25 million new road, Angel Way. HOCHTIEF GRIFFITHS Joint Venture has been awarded this important phase of the Greater Bargoed Community Regeneration Scheme and are working in partnership with Consultants, Capita Symonds and pilling contractor Cementation Skanska. Angel Way will consist of a single 7.3 meter carriageway with one-meter hard strips, some 2.2 kilometres long, located along the valley floor and passing though the recently constructed Park Coedtir Bargoed. This recording has been produced by Bargoed Male Choir to celebrate the opening of the Bargoed By-Pass - Angel Way; and the regeneration of Bargoed Town. The Choir would like to thank everyone involved in the production of this recording. CDs on sale now at £5.00 each available from all choristers. |
